Hey GN. Thanks for your kind words. Even though he was elderly, it's still a bit of a shock, as he was a pretty hardy sort of bloke and seemed indestructible at times! I was going to write something longer, but that can wait. I might revisit this in a few months when I have time to think about it all. His life as a POW in WW2 is worthy of a post in itself!
